Why do I never check?
Almost nobody opens it, and that is the mechanism rather than a failure of nerve.
Not looking is what keeps the contents ungenerated. Nothing behind the door is ever required, so nothing is ever made, and the dream can sustain the certainty indefinitely at no cost.
The something-under-the-bed, something-in-the-wardrobe and behind-a-curtain reports have the identical shape, and none of them ever produce anything.
The refusing entry explains the not-checking: evaluation is largely offline, and this database is full of dreamers not doing the obvious thing.
